Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Data Center Technician to join our team at blithequark. As a Data Center Technician, you will be responsible for installing, upgrading, and maintaining our IT infrastructure in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring the high availability of our infrastructure and providing excellent support to our internal teams and external partners. Key Responsibilities Enable a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of data center activities Establish and maintain strong working relationships with different internal teams and external vendors Understand the overall ticket management cycle and provide daily operational support Perform power cycles, swap out failed parts, handle storage media, and troubleshoot issues Perform cable installations, hardware rack/stack installations, testing, and troubleshooting using standard data center procedures Physically assist with moving and racking equipment, supporting the deployment of on-site data center physical infrastructure, including servers, network switches, and storage devices Assist the data center inventory and asset management team with shipping/receiving and inventory management to support high work volumes Lead through change by bringing clarity, creating energy, and delivering success Evaluate and prioritize work demands, provide planning detail, and aid in the prioritization and coordination of service delivery for data center operations teams Work non-business hours (shifts) that may include weekends and/or holidays Use appropriate PPE, such as safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and facial covering, in various conditions with changing temperatures Essential Qualifications Experience working with macOS, iPadOS, Windows Ability to support continuous standing, walking, lifting, and working at heights Minimum 2 years of related IT experience Technical certifications ITF+, A+, Server+, BICSI Installer I or related experience Ability to work (with precise hydrations) within a data center environment normally within the temperature range of 79 degrees Fahrenheit to as high as 105 degrees Fahrenheit Ability to be available to work after normal business hours to respond to and resolve urgent business issues Preferred Qualifications Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to take direction with minimal guidance Ability to work with internal clients as well as vendors Collaborates with others, thrives in a team environment, and has a strong ability to build relationships and collaborate Knowledge of safety procedures, established protocols, and equipment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
