We're now seeking a skilled and empathetic 988 Chat/Text Specialist to join our remote team, focusing on mental health crisis intervention and suicide prevention. A Unique Opportunity for a 988 Chat/Text Specialist As a 988 Chat/Text Specialist at blithequark, you'll play a critical role in our 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention team. You'll handle incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988, providing brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress. Key Responsibilities As a 988 Chat/Text Specialist at blithequark, your primary responsibilities will include: * Providing telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments to individuals in crisis * Answering crisis contacts via chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify community resources * Conducting follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide * Meeting ethical and clinical standards in compliance with accreditation requirements * Actively participating in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings * Assisting in administrative tasks as needed Requirements and Qualifications To succeed as a 988 Chat/Text Specialist at blithequark, you'll need: Education * Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, psychology, social work, or a related field * Certified Peer Recovery Specialist certification is also accepted Experience * Six months to one year of related crisis experience Skills and Competencies * Effective communication via written, verbal, in-person, and virtual methods * High-level customer service skills and professional etiquette * Knowledge and competency in providing service linkage and referrals for programs, services, and community resources * Knowledge of suicide assessments and crisis intervention What We Offer At blithequark, we're committed to supporting our employees' well-being and growth.
