Experienced Financial Statement Auditor

Porter & Allison, Inc. is locally owned and operated CPA firm in Anchorage, Alaska. We are currently an office of 19 accounting and auditing professionals with 8 of us working as licensed CPAs. Porter & Allison, Inc.’s inception was based on the premise that the current Alaska market demands more personal and timely attention to Alaska businesses from qualified and skilled audit and accounting professionals without the high overhead, administrative, and time barriers typical of larger firms. We are currently seeking a Experienced Financial Statement Auditor with a knack for remote work, who is detail oriented and interested in helping a growing company. This individual will be responsible for supporting our managers in numerous areas, including planning, substantive test work, and audit completion. The successful candidate will need to be an experienced professional with proficiency in various programs and excellent communication skills. If you have no public account experience this position is not for you. If you're in public accounting or left it a short time ago, we want to talk with you. 2-5 years of experience is what we are looking for. Federal Single Audit experience is a plus. Experience auditing local governments and employee benefit plans is another plus. Responsibilities: • Ensure that accounting, auditing, and financial management activities conform to professional standards and company policies and procedures. • Interpret accounting data. • Prepare and analyze financial statements. • Select and test samples. • Train new staff on the basics. • Write up audit findings.
