Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Financial Literacy Teacher to join our team in Madison, WI. As a Financial Literacy Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive financial education programs that equip our students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to make informed financial decisions. You will work closely with our students, teachers, and community partners to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic excellence, financial literacy, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver comprehensive financial education programs that align with state and national standards
Prepare and teach scheduled classes, documenting teaching performance objectives and creating effective learning experiences
Ensure that lesson plans align with the district's adopted courses of study and state standards/guidelines
Submit written lesson plans according to building and/or district procedures
Uphold board policies, follow administrative procedures, and comply with the Employee Code of Conduct
Promote a favorable image of the school district and maintain high standards of student conduct
Implement effective pupil behavioral management procedures, including positive behavior intervention supports (PBIS)
Develop and maintain a positive learning environment that stimulates student interest and helps parents and students understand academic and behavioral objectives
Evaluate the needs of students based on all available information and plan student interventions
Vary instructional techniques to address individual learning styles and differentiate instruction to maximize student achievement
Communicate high expectations and show an active interest in student progress
Counsel students and help them develop critical-thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills
Collaborate with other teachers, share knowledge and resources, and incorporate the effective use of available technology in records management and instructional activities


Essential Qualifications

Valid Ohio Teacher's License appropriate for the assignment (or willing to obtain)
Documentation of a clear criminal record
Demonstrated expertise in financial literacy education and a passion for teaching and learning
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and community partners
Strong knowledge of state and national standards for financial education


Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Education, Finance, or a related field
Experience teaching financial literacy education in a school setting
Knowledge of technology-enhanced instructional strategies and digital resources
Experience with project-based learning and community-based partnerships
Strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices
