Job Overview The Global Merchant and Network Services (GM&NS) Pricing team at Blithequark is responsible for the single largest source of our revenue: Merchant Discount Income. The team works closely with numerous colleagues to determine the optimal pricing to enable merchant acceptance of Blithequark while striving to improve coverage and merchant satisfaction. Ultimately, we drive GM&NS revenue and profit growth through client-driven pricing principles, more flexible pricing architecture, and innovative pricing solutions. The Role: Financial Analyst – Planning and Analysis - Canada As a Financial Analyst of Planning and Analysis - Canada, you will play a critical role in determining and reporting merchant discount income. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence multiple businesses and segments by aligning the association's objective for profitable charge volume and merchant development, vital for the health of our business. Key Responsibilities: Create a Canada figure for merchant discount income, tracking month-to-month performance against forecast and identifying drivers of change. Develop merchant discount income scorecards for the Canada region. Drive normalization and process improvement among the different local pricing groups for all reporting and forecasting-related activities. Support external audits, including investigating issues found, reaching out to the provincial pricing groups that manage the merchant relationships to discuss issues, and managing resolutions. Perform ad-hoc data analysis to assess discount rate trends and uncover insights. Requirements and Qualifications: Essential Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in financial services or payments industry, and/or other financial roles. Four-year college degree required; strongly preferred in finance/accounting/business. High proficiency with Excel is required. Strong attention to detail and organization. Strong analytical skills; demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models and draw value-added insights from a large amount of financial data. Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SAS/SQL) is required. Excellent communication skills - both written and oral. A strong relationship management and collaboration skills with the ability to influence others in situations where there may be various objectives. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in managing multiple projects and prioritizing as needed. Demonstrated ability to handle numerous requests and prioritize as needs be. An innovative thinker who will challenge conventional approaches to getting things done and develop new approaches to old challenges. Strong project management skills with full ownership from analysis through to execution. Passionate focus on the client; demonstrated desire to understand and solve client needs and pain points.
