About the Role and Responsibilities We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our Global Merchant and Network Services (GM&NS) Pricing team. As a Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for forecasting and reporting merchant discount revenue, creating scorecards, and driving standardization and process improvement across regional pricing groups. Your key responsibilities will include: Creating a Canada forecast for merchant discount revenue and tracking monthly performance against forecast Identifying drivers of variance and developing strategies to address them Creating merchant discount revenue scorecards for the Canada region Driving standardization and process improvement across regional pricing groups Supporting external audits and performing ad-hoc data analysis to assess discount price trends and uncover insights Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need: 2+ years of experience in financial services or payments industry, and/or other finance-related roles A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business High skill level with Excel and strong analytical skills Ability to develop complex financial models and draw value-added insights from large quantities of financial data Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SAS, SQL) is required Excellent communication skills, both written and oral Strong relationship management and collaboration skills with the ability to influence others Strong work ethic with an extreme will-to-win and ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred: Experience working in a global organization with a diverse community of colleagues Knowledge of merchant pricing and discount revenue models Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively Ability to prioritize multiple requests and manage multiple projects simultaneously Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At American Express, we are committed to helping our colleagues grow and develop in their careers.
