About the Role We are looking for an experienced Financial Analyst - Actuarial to join our In-Force Management team within the Actuarial department. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including the implementation of new products and the maintenance of our in-force block of business. You will collaborate with IT, other actuarial teams, and business stakeholders to drive business growth and success. This role will focus on supporting our life insurance products, and you will be expected to leverage your technical skills to analyze data, build models, and provide insights that inform business decisions. Key Responsibilities Compile, categorize, and analyze data to support business decisions, with direction and oversight from senior team members Assist in building testing tools, analyzing product calculations, and product illustrations to ensure accuracy and compliance Aid in building, maintaining, and running actuarial, projection, and valuation models to support business planning and decision-making Complete financial reporting and analysis, with direct oversight from senior team members, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial information Responsible for pricing and implementation of products, with input and oversight from senior team members, to ensure that products are competitively priced and meet customer needs Assist in valuation and reserving under multiple accounting regimes (statutory, GAAP, and tax) for products, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Assist with analysis of reinsurance opportunities and risks for Nationwide Financial business products, to identify areas for growth and improvement Assist in activities related to data and analytics, including data governance, data strategy development, data modeling, and data manipulation, to support business decision-making Essential Qualifications Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, computer information systems, or a similar background requiring modeling, programming, or quantitative analysis Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products, including VBA within Access and Excel, and programming languages Basic level of perspective, customer focus, dealing with ambiguity, drive for results, business perspective, and analysis Proficient level of problem-solving, learning on the fly, and making the best use of system capabilities Preferred Qualifications Experience with Excel, VBA, and SQL is highly preferred May have passed an actuarial exam, LOMA, or other industry exams Internship, associate teaching, or tutoring experience in a related field Basic level of understanding of actuarial models and concepts Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Nationwide, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits We offer a competitive salary range for this role, with a national salary range of $52,000 - $109,000 and an expected starting salary range of $58,000 - $88,000.
