Job Overview The Financial Aid Consultant and Operations Specialist will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality services to our clients. This includes conducting operational reviews, preparing comprehensive assessment reports, and developing improvement plans that adhere to a quality assurance approach. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of financial aid compliance and operations, coupled with excellent communication and project management skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on client satisfaction and service delivery, is essential. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Collaborate closely with clients to identify and address financial aid compliance and operational issues, developing and implementing improvement plans as needed. Conduct in-depth research on complex regulatory issues, providing concise analysis and actionable recommendations to clients. Lead operational reviews and compile comprehensive reports detailing findings and suggestions for improvement. Design and deliver training sessions on financial aid issues, either individually or in group settings, to enhance client knowledge and capabilities. Develop and manage project plans, ensuring timely and effective execution of projects. Oversee software implementation or configuration, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. Create and maintain detailed documentation of all work completed, including project plans, reports, and training materials. Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates should possess: A Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant field. Five to seven years of progressive experience in financial aid, with a strong background in compliance and operations. Proven ability to organize and deliver effective training sessions. Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulatory requirements. Experience with automation and major financial aid information systems. Demonstrated experience in financial aid operations, system improvements, and the ability to prepare corrective action plans. Strong writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Preferred experience with Banner, CampusVue, Datatel, PeopleSoft, PowerFAIDS, and/or other major student information systems.
