Reviewing information from the general ledger, unit reports, and different financial systems to ensure accuracy
Preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and verifications
Investigating projects related to financial accounting strategies, techniques, or systems
Performing ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal control policies
Providing practical guidance and training to others
Offering support for compliance and risk management requirements
Collaborating and communicating with partners throughout the organization
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
2+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Analysis, Financial Reporting, Accounting Operations, or Risk Reporting, or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
2+ years of SEC/Federal quarterly reporting experience; Fiserv data/knowledge
COSO-based Sarbanes-Oxley internal control assessment implementation
Military experience or analytical experience including operational management, project management, mission development management, and financial management
1+ year of credit card industry reporting experience; corporate/business loan products knowledge
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
Big 4/regional public accounting/financial services experience
Transitional Essbase/SmartView, advanced Microsoft Excel with VLOOKUP/pivot tables
Solid knowledge/experience of General Ledger reconciliations and automation tools
Independent judgment/creative problem-solving to investigate/identify/anticipate downstream effects in complex matrixed environment
Knowledge/understanding of US GAAP financial statements or components preparation with the ability to translate/summarize complex data into understandable, meaningful information and recommendations
Demonstrated understanding of accounting/reporting/internal control issues
Ability to interpret and summarize complex data into reasonable, meaningful information and suggestions
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access) skills
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
