About the Role

As an Exterminator for Cincinnati Public Schools, you will play a critical role in preventing and controlling pest infestations in our buildings and surrounding areas. This involves a range of responsibilities, including:


Conducting regular inspections to identify pest and rodent infestations
Developing and implementing effective pest control strategies to prevent and eliminate infestations
Operating and maintaining equipment used for pest control, including rodent traps and pesticide application equipment
Applying pesticides and other control measures in accordance with state regulations and safety guidelines
Maintaining accurate records of pest control activities, including inspections, treatments, and results
Collaborating with CPS staff and contractors to ensure effective pest control and prevention
Providing excellent customer service and responding to pest-related concerns from staff and students


Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications:


Experience as an exterminator, or currently employed with CPS and successful completion of the exterminator training program
Valid Ohio Operator Pesticide license
Knowledge of state of Ohio pesticide regulations, pesticide chemicals, and safety precautions
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally, and to read and write reports
Ability to understand and follow written instructions, and to recognize pest and rodent infestation
Physical agility and stamina to perform manual labor, including crawling and working in cramped, dirty, and dusty areas
Valid driver's license


Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:


Previous experience working in a school or educational setting
Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles and practices
Certification in pest control or a related field
Experience with equipment maintenance and repair
