As an Executive Protection Manager at Amazon, you will be responsible for developing and implementing complete security and logistical plans for domestic and international travel and appearances by senior executives and others. Your role will involve making critical decisions, analyzing data, conducting risk assessments, and liaising with various stakeholders to ensure the safety and security of our protectees. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive security and logistical plans for domestic and international travel and appearances by senior executives and others, ensuring the highest level of protection and safety. Make critical decisions, without management consultation or approval, regarding the expeditious and safe resolution of security situations, directing others, including non-employees, and interfacing with law enforcement as necessary. Analyze data from databases and evaluate the severity and nature of risk to senior executives and others, developing and implementing appropriate security responses to address these risks. Conduct complex advance protective services planning, risk assessments, and analysis, and liaise with business units to ensure confidentiality, access control, asset protection, and other security matters are adequately addressed. Coordinate security/logistical planning with other senior executive support staff, security personnel of other organizations, event planners, and law enforcement personnel to ensure seamless execution of security plans. Monitor security systems and supervise response to alarm conditions, ensuring prompt and effective action is taken in the event of a security breach or incident. Develop and implement crisis management plans for senior executives and others, providing a proactive and responsive approach to managing security risks and incidents. Develop and implement training for senior executives, senior executive support personnel, and Protective Services Specialists, ensuring that all stakeholders are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to support our security efforts. Hire and manage consultants as necessary, ensuring that external expertise is leveraged to support our security operations and enhance our capabilities. Interview, hire, and supervise Protective Services Specialists, building and leading a high-performing team that is dedicated to delivering exceptional security services. Essential Qualifications Formal training in executive protection, plus 5+ years of experience in a related field, such as law enforcement, security management, or a similar discipline. A valid and active driver's license, with the ability to travel domestically and internationally as required. On-call availability 24/7, with the ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Position requires occasional business travel domestically and internationally for up to a week or more with little or no notice, and a valid passport is essential. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or Security Management, or a related field, with a strong academic record and a passion for security and protection. Experience making high-stress decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to work with little to no supervision and make independent judgments. Prior experience with a federal, state, or local law enforcement agency, or a similar organization, with a strong understanding of law enforcement protocols and procedures. Experience developing and managing security plans for various sized events, with a proven track record of delivering successful security operations. Executive protection experience, with a deep understanding of the principles and practices of protective services, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a real-world setting. Ability to work as an individual and part of a complex team, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Supervisory experience is desirable, with the ability to lead and manage a team of security professionals, and provide guidance and direction as needed. Investigative experience is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of investigative techniques and protocols, and the ability to conduct thorough and effective investigations. Broad-based security experience is a plus, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices, and the ability to apply this knowledge in a variety of settings. International travel/work experience and foreign language skills are desirable, with the ability to work effectively in a global environment, and communicate with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets, and the base pay for this position ranges from $83,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $170,000/year in our highest geographic market.
