Job Overview We're seeking an experienced ETL Data Engineer to join our team on a contract basis, pending award. As an ETL Data Engineer at Skyward, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures that enable our organization to make data-driven decisions. Your expertise in ETL tools, relational and NoSQL databases, data warehousing, and scripting languages will be invaluable in driving our data integration and analytics capabilities forward. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deploy ETL processes and data pipelines using various ETL tools and technologies. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop data solutions that meet business needs. Ensure data quality, integrity, and accuracy by implementing data validation and data cleansing processes. Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability, and reliability. Document ETL processes, data architectures, and technical details for stakeholders and team members. Work with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data-related issues. Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and ETL. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. At least 2 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on ETL development and data integration. Experience with one or more ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter, Microsoft SSIS, Talend, Pentaho, or Apache NiFi. Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL. Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra. Familiarity with data warehousing architectures (e.g., Kimball, Inmon) and technologies like Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, and Snowflake. Excellent knowledge of scripting and programming languages for data manipulation and transformation. Strong oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services. Knowledge of data governance and data security best practices. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. Certifications in data engineering or related fields. Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you'll need a combination of technical skills, business acumen, and soft skills. We're looking for someone who is not only proficient in ETL tools and data technologies but also able to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
