**Experienced English Language Learners Tutor – Remote Work Opportunity for a Dedicated Educator**

As an English Language Learners Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic success of our students and contributing to the growth and development of our school community. **Job Summary** The English Language Learners Tutor will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to provide individualized support and instruction in English language skills. This role requires a strong understanding of ESL principles, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and diverse learning environment. **Key Responsibilities** * Provide tutorial sessions independently and/or in collaboration with the classroom teacher to support students' English language development * Develop individualized tutorial plans for students, taking into account their unique needs and learning styles * Complete English Language Learners Program identification and assessment reports to inform instruction and support student progress * Maintain accurate attendance and program records for students referred to the English Language Learners Program * Collaborate with classroom teachers to determine the needs of referred students, particularly ESL needs * Develop and implement plans to meet applicable goals for students and establish learning objectives for each referred student * Schedule and attend conferences with parents and teachers to discuss student progress and goals * Attend scheduled in-service training programs to stay up-to-date on best practices in ESL instruction * Assist students with materials and resources to support English language proficiency * Act as a liaison or interpreter/translator between the school, teachers, students, and parents when a language other than English is necessary * Introduce pertinent information to LEP students and classroom teachers about multicultural awareness issues **Essential Qualifications** * High school diploma or equivalent * Within 45 calendar days of hire, meet paraprofessional requirements for the state of Alaska through one of the following methods: + 48 college semester credits from a regionally accredited institution + Passing score of 459 or greater on the ETS Paraprofessional Assessment exam + Passing the WorkKeys by ACT assessment + Passing the ASD provided Master Teacher paraprofessional training * Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills * Excellent communication and customer service skills * Ability to maintain confidentiality and inspire confidence and cooperation of staff, parents, students, administrators, and the public * Ability to establish and maintain a professional relationship with staff, parents, students, administrators, and the public **Preferred Qualifications** * Knowledge of first aid * College coursework in education * Experience and training in working with children in an instructional environment, preferably within a bilingual setting * Fluency in English and at least one other language * Training and experience in English as a Second Language (ESL) programs * Ability to effectively present information to staff, parents, students, administrators, and the public * Ability to maintain effective communication with students, parents, and members of the community **Skills and Competencies** * Strong understanding of ESL principles and instructional strategies * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and diverse learning environment * Strong organizational and time management skills * Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information * Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills * Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and students to support student success **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** As an English Language Learners Tutor, you will have the opportunity to: * Develop your skills and expertise in ESL instruction and support * Collaborate with experienced educators and professionals in the field * Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities * Contribute to the growth and development of our school community * Pursue opportunities for advancement and career growth within our organization **Work Environment and Company Culture** Our organization values diversity, equity, and inclusion, and is committed to creating a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all students and staff.
