Job Overview We are urgently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated ELD teacher to work with multilingual learners in developing their English skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The successful candidate will collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure best practices for multilingual learners are implemented throughout the school day. This is a 0.5 FTE position, offering a great opportunity for a passionate educator to make a real difference in the lives of students. Key Responsibilities Plan and organize language development instruction consistent with the district curriculum, utilizing the WIDA framework and standards in the development of lesson plans. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and teaching strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students, including sheltering lessons, whole group (co-teaching where applicable), small-group, or individual learning. Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure best practices for multilingual learners are implemented throughout the school day. Administer required language proficiency (W-APT/ACCESS) and academic achievement tests within the required time frame. Assure proper placement in ELD courses/groups according to district guidelines and maintain cumulative folders with required paperwork for English language learners. Run student reports weekly to ensure accuracy of data and collaborate with building administration to collect and complete all required paperwork for the multilingual learner redesignation process. Assist in monitoring Fluent English Proficient (FEP) students who have exited from ELD services within the last two years and remain current in all district CLDE-related communications. Attend IEP, Section 504, or other related meetings necessary for student assessment and/or compliance with federal and/or state law. Facilitate the ELD Consult model for consult students when applicable and assist in collecting and analyzing data for increasing student achievement. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field. Must be a minimum of 18 years old. Criminal background check required for hire. Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Colorado Educator License. Must possess the required license and endorsement according to ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act), including ESL, Bilingual, or (LDE) Linguistically Diverse Education, (CLDE) Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education endorsement. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with multilingual learners and developing English language skills. Knowledge of the WIDA framework and standards. Experience with sheltering lessons and co-teaching. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances. Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of English language development principles and practices. Ability to plan and deliver effective instruction to multilingual learners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers and other stakeholders. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to analyze data and inform instruction.
