Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time English Instructor (AP Level Preferred) to join our team of dedicated educators. As an English Instructor, you will be responsible for providing instruction in literature, essay composition, vocabulary, creative writing, reading comprehension, and other core curriculum areas. You will collaborate with our Director of Curriculum Development to create lesson plans and curricula, as well as provide academic support to students in preparation for their AP Exams. Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Director of Curriculum Development to develop lesson plans and curricula as needed
Prepare students for writing competitions and AP Exams
Provide student guidance throughout the college counseling process
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions, counseling sessions, and progress
Generate reports and summaries to track students' academic performance, college applications, and other relevant data
Assess students' needs and provide extra support in any lacking areas
Provide homework help as needed
Lead a classroom of students effectively and work efficiently with students
Demonstrate good classroom management skills


Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field from an accredited college or university (required)
Master's degree in Education, English, or a related field from an accredited college or university (preferred)
2 years of experience as an English/Writing instructor or tutor (required)
Successful track record of helping students with creative writing and preparing students for writing competitions
Knowledgeable with AP English content and tests
Professional communication skills (both spoken and written)
Proven experience assisting students with essay review
Competent in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications

Teaching Certification (preferred)
Experience working with students in a fast-paced learning environment
Familiarity with proprietary curriculum development
Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
Enthusiasm for working with students and parents
Able to maintain strict confidentiality
Highly organized and detail-oriented (attention to detail and accuracy is imperative)
