Job Summary As an Engineering and Facilities Operations Manager at Target, you will be responsible for leading a team of support experts, utility attendants, and project resource management (EAM) software specialists. Your primary objective will be to foster a reliability-focused support culture within your team, ensuring high equipment availability and accomplishment of supply chain facility operations. You will develop and implement solutions to complex problems, collaborate with building leaders to optimize material handling equipment utilization, manage external contractors, and handle multiple projects and daily activities while meeting tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities Empower elite execution of the supply chain facility by cultivating a reliability-focused support culture within your team Lead and develop a team of support experts, utility attendants, and EAM software specialists Develop and implement solutions to complex problems, collaborating with building leaders to optimize material handling equipment utilization Manage external contractors, handle multiple projects and daily activities, and meet tight deadlines Foster a continuous improvement ethic in your team by following a data-driven daily cycle focused on root cause elimination Improve the reliability of the system through ownership in defect handling, breakdown prevention, planning, and scheduling Collaborate with other division leaders to achieve engineering and facilities departmental objectives Leadership and Team Management As a leader in the engineering and facilities department, you will be responsible for the direction, development, coaching, and performance management of your team. This includes providing ongoing constructive and critical feedback on work quality to enhance individual performance, providing guidance and direction to help them and the division achieve objectives, and overseeing performance management and reviews. You will also be responsible for onboarding new team members, ensuring they complete required training, and supporting the ongoing development of the team's capabilities. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Past managerial experience in a team-oriented environment Ability to read, interpret, and effectively communicate essential policies and procedures Ability to thrive, lead, and influence others in a team while prioritizing multiple tasks Experience with multi-contractor management Self-motivated and customer-driven Excellent computer capability Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred for the Engineering and Facilities Operations Manager role: Experience in a similar role within the retail or logistics industry Knowledge of engineering and facilities operations, including material handling equipment, lighting, power distribution, backup generators, fire suppression and alarm systems, balers, compactors, blowers, dock doors, HVAC, and over-the-road trailer fleet Familiarity with project resource management (EAM) software and other relevant technologies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement creative solutions to complex problems Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Target, we are committed to the growth and development of our team members.
