Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction to EL students, making accommodations to the curriculum to ensure accessibility and comprehensibility Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to support EL students' access to the core curriculum, providing expertise and guidance on differentiated instruction and Sheltered Instruction strategies Develop and implement effective lesson plans, using a push-in or pull-out model to meet the diverse needs of EL students Assess and monitor EL students' progress, maintaining accurate records and reports as required by local, state, and federal agencies Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, academic subject area teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure that EL students receive comprehensive support Participate in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date on best practices in EL education and staying current with new technologies and instructional tools Collaborate with building administration and the Coordinator of English Learners to develop and implement programs that address the needs and abilities of the EL student population Essential Qualifications CT CSDE certification endorsed for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), PK-12 (111) Experience working with EL students, preferably in a bilingual or ESL setting Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with a strong track record of promoting student learning and achievement Superior organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain accurate records Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to work effectively with administrators, teachers, parents, and students Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and implement various technologies, including Operating Systems, Office suites, Presentation Software, Spreadsheets, Communication and Collaboration tools, and Student Information Systems Preferred Qualifications Dual certification in TESOL, Bilingual Education, or ESL Experience with Sheltered Instruction or fluency in a language other than English Knowledge of the Every Student Succeeds Act, Title I, and Title III regulations and guidelines What We Offer As a member of the Stamford Public Schools team, you will enjoy a competitive salary range of $50,184 to $122,160, based on education and experience.
