Key Responsibilities


Teach assigned classes using the educational philosophy and policies adopted by the Board of Education, ensuring alignment with State and District curriculum guidelines.
Plan and implement a program of study that meets the diverse needs, interests, and abilities of students, utilizing available resources and data from various educational sources.
Identify students with special learning needs and develop strategies to support their academic success.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement, motivation, and self-worth.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress, behavioral issues, and other relevant matters.
Maintain accurate records, make necessary reports, and adhere to contractual agreements and State law.
Pursue opportunities for professional growth and development, staying current with best practices in elementary education.
Perform other duties as assigned by administration to meet the needs of students and the school community.


Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must:


Hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Teacher Certification in Elementary Education.
Possess Special Education Certification (preferred).
Demonstrate the physical ability to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per workday, with minimum lifting requirements of 50 pounds (with assistance).
Exhibit the ability to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students.
