About the Position As a Doctoral Instructor - Part Time, Organizational Behavior , you will play a critical role in supporting the overall instructional and academic excellence of our doctoral program/content area. You will coordinate with central administration and various stakeholders to inform University leadership about the changing needs of specific student populations, ensuring continual quality improvement of education programs. Key Responsibilities Serve as a faculty teaching within the program curricula for online, residency, or dissertation classes; teach up to five classes within the academic year in accordance with teaching practices identified in the Faculty Handbook and by the practicing College and University administration; effectively use a mentor/coach approach to build productive educational relationships with students. Serve on dissertation committees or in an assigned role as a project chair, resource specialist, research methodologist, statistician, IRB expert, or panel validator; develop and maintain strong relationships by serving as a program resource for college and/or academic staff, faculty, and students, and serve as a liaison for the College. Support the research methodology team by peer reviewing content for publication. Apply flexibility and creativity in meeting student needs, ensuring availability to students, responding to student issues and concerns, as needed, inside and outside of the classroom, based on the learning environment and according to University and College policy and instructional standards. Assist in developing and maintaining the quality and integrity of the College's respective doctoral program, including the development and implementation of program goals and program integrity; Participate in programmatic accreditation activities, committees, and attendance at required meetings and student forums. Participate in and lead task forces and committees, which includes participating in the planning, implementation, and coordination of activities to maximize service quality effectiveness and efficiency, as required; represent and address academic concerns with academic leadership. Maintain a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, to support student development and progression; hold open office hours to accommodate student development and progression. Maintain professional and technical knowledge of the curricula by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies, and developing an annual personal research or scholarship agenda that includes publication or presentation to a larger academic community; maintain a general knowledge of emerging issues and trends related to the respective doctoral studies. Work remotely and maintain a home office environment, that is conducive to professionalism and student privacy, with capability of video conferencing for all College meetings. Perform other duties as required or apparent. Requirements Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Doctorate in Organizational Behavior or related degree OR Doctorate in any area with 3 years of experience in Organizational Behavior. Five (5) years recent experience in a business or related field. Two (2) years current experience in project management and leading organizations and teams. Must be a current UOPX Associate Faculty member with the College of Doctoral Studies. Additional requirements for specific programs/content areas: Must have a current graduate scholarship on file. Must have 1 year of teaching experience in higher education. Complete the self-guided Dissertation Chair Training Refresher (DCTR) annually. Knowledge of adult education principles/practices, curriculum development, and academic content area. SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENT: All faculty members must have one record of scholarship within the last five years that meets UOPX's definition of scholarship engagement. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proven experience as a scholar, practitioner, leader in one of the industries relative to our doctoral degree program. Able to convey a professional image and effectively represent the organization as appropriate in its relationship with the community as well as in all professional social media profiles such as LinkedIn. Familiarity with adult education experience. Experience with doctoral-level education. High level of problem-solving and decision-making abilities to respond to student issues and concerns, evaluate students for retention, assess student work and abilities, and facilitate the doctoral learning experience. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with diverse constituencies, including students, faculty, employees, and external parties. Compensation The annual pay range for this position is $32,688 (minimum) - $48,750 (midpoint) - $64,813 (maximum). The hiring range for this position is $37,000 or $40,000. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, and budget.
