About the Role We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Distributed Systems Engineers to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goal of reaching 500 million people worldwide. As a Distributed Systems Engineer at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in developing and improving our infrastructure, enabling us to deliver high-quality entertainment to our global audience. Focus on Data Infrastructure Groups Our Data Infrastructure Groups are the backbone of our operations, providing unified data platforms and tools for various business functions across arenaflex. We are committed to building a world-class data infrastructure that enables our teams to make data-driven decisions and drive business growth. Our groups include: Database Access Platform: Building and operating a scalable query gateway that facilitates data abstractions to work at sub-millisecond latencies while allowing arenaflex microservices to store, consume, and manage their data more effectively. Data Platform Framework: Acting as a platform for our own data platforms, enabling arenaflex to rapidly evolve and provide cutting-edge data and analytics systems to the rest of the organization without building custom-tailored platforms for each new system. Data Development and Processing: Offering a self-service cleared path product to enable varied client personas across arenaflex to meet their low-latency Data Development and Processing requirements. Big Data Registry: Responsible for providing the cloud-native platform for distributed data processing at arenaflex, offering support for Flash, ETL data into the Petabytes-scale data warehouse, and access to that data using Flash and Voila/TrinoDB. Big Data Solution: Offering the platform for designing, scheduling, and executing big data jobs and workflows in a self-serve way, including central services that have all ETL and ML jobs running on Big Data Frameworks at arenaflex. Key Responsibilities As a Distributed Systems Engineer at arenaflex, your key responsibilities will include: Designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems features or applications. Architecting and building robust, scalable, and highly available distributed systems. Driving cross-functional initiatives and collaborating with engineers, product managers, and TPMs across teams. Sharing our experiences with the open-source communities and contributing to arenaflex OSS. Tackling real business needs at scale by applying your programming and analytical problem-solving skills. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should have: 2+ years of experience in building large-scale distributed systems features or applications. Proficiency in the design and development of RESTful web services. Experience in building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems. Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages. Comfort with multi-threading and handling complex system issues. A BS in Computer Science or a related field. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience with cloud-native technologies and distributed data processing frameworks. Knowledge of open-source technologies and contributing to open-source communities. Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
