Job Summary

As a Dental Hygienist at Affinity Dental Management, you will be responsible for providing high-quality preventive dental care to our patients. Your primary focus will be on removing hard and soft deposits from teeth, examining oral areas for signs of disease, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques. You will work closely with our dentists to identify areas of concern, develop treatment plans, and ensure seamless execution of patient care.

Key Responsibilities


Welcome and seat patients cheerfully, ensuring a positive experience from the outset.
Prepare and properly set up treatment rooms for hygiene procedures, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Review and update patient health histories, chart progress, and document treatments and home care compliance.
Remove calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums using dental instruments, including scaling and root planning for patients with periodontal disease.
Apply fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents to arrest dental decay and promote oral health.
Assess and evaluate patients through exams, patient records, and medical histories to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Develop and present treatment plans, taking the time to educate patients on their oral health and the necessary steps to maintain it.
Capture x-rays, process, download, and mount them for the doctor to view, and interpret x-rays independently.
Perform head, neck, and oral cancer exams, using probes to examine gums and identify signs of periodontal disease.
Educate and motivate patients on proper oral hygiene and corrective/preventative measures, promoting a culture of oral health.
Work chair-side with dentists as needed, assisting in hygiene examinations and ensuring comprehensive care.
Schedule appropriate re-care appointments, maintaining a focus on preventive care and patient follow-up.
Assist in sterilization duties, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
Maintain hygiene handpieces and instruments in good repair and sufficient supply, ensuring the highest level of care.
Adhere to strict safety guidelines and procedures to OSHA and office standards, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.


Essential Qualifications

To succeed as a Dental Hygienist at Affinity Dental Management, you will need:


An Associate's Degree or higher from an ADA-accredited dental hygienist program.
A current State License to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
CPR Certification, ensuring you're equipped to handle any medical emergency.
Preferred one-year dental experience, although we welcome candidates with a strong educational foundation and a willingness to learn.
Certification in anesthesia is a plus, although not required.
