As a DHH Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional educational support to students with diverse needs. Your expertise and commitment to inclusive education will empower students to reach their full potential and achieve academic success. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student Provide high-quality instruction and support to students with diverse learning styles and abilities Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other educators, to ensure comprehensive support for students Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet the evolving needs of each student Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and support Stay up-to-date with best practices in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education, attending professional development workshops and conferences as required Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications: Graduate from a Teaching program with a specialization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education Current license as a DHH Teacher in California, with a strong understanding of state and federal regulations governing special education Preferred school experience, with a proven track record of success in supporting students with diverse needs Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Special Education, Deaf Education, or a related field Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other sign languages Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you must possess the following skills and competencies: Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse communication styles and needs Collaboration and teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve common goals Adaptability and flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced educational environment Cultural competence: Commitment to cultural diversity and inclusion, with a deep understanding of the needs and experiences of students from diverse backgrounds Emotional intelligence: High emotional intelligence, with the ability to empathize with students, colleagues, and stakeholders Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At The Stepping Stones Group, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our employees.
