As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing shift leadership, troubleshooting complex database issues, and driving innovation to improve our services. As a Database Administrator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our databases. You will work closely with our global support team to resolve complex issues, improve processes, and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Provide shift leadership for a team of US and offshore engineers, ensuring all high-priority issues are validated, communicated, mitigated, and assigned for resolution. Respond to Global Support Center tickets in a timely manner, troubleshoot and triage tickets in queue, and follow documentation and handling instructions. Know when to escalate critical issues and communicate clearly and confidently with clients and internal staff. Work well in stressful situations and drive innovation and continuous process improvement to perform more efficiently for our customers and company stakeholders. Monitor system health and performance, troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, and analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time. Provide process guidance and leadership to the shift team, and perform tasks such as adding space to an Oracle tablespace, troubleshooting Oracle archiver issues, and resolving blocking locks. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field. 3-8 years of experience in database administration with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. Familiarity with high-availability designs, including Oracle DataGuard and/or SQL Server AlwaysOn. Experience with backup solutions, including Oracle RMAN, and replication concepts, preferably Golden Gate. Understanding of Oracle RAC and ASM, with Exadata experience a plus. Ability to multi-task while maintaining high-quality deliverables. Experience working within Service Management toolsets. Experience working with Windows servers and Unix/Linux. Experience using vi editor. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following skills and experience are highly valued: Prior experience with network devices, compute, and storage software and hardware. Experience with other database technologies such as MySQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL. ITIL knowledge and certification.
