About the Role We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team in Elmira, NY. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing quantitative analysis and AI solutions to drive business outcomes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business problems, develop predictive models, and deploy solutions that drive significant returns on investment. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement quantitative analysis and AI solutions to drive business outcomes, using advanced statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and structured programming languages. Identify and investigate complex business problems, and develop predictive models to solve them, using large datasets and advanced analytics tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy solutions that drive significant returns on investment. Communicate results to stakeholders, including senior leaders and clients, and provide ongoing analytical support to business partners. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, and apply this knowledge to drive business outcomes. Develop and deliver presentations and reports that summarize findings and recommendations. Participate in model design, development, and testing, and work with product delivery teams to deploy solutions. Identify solution quality risks and opportunities for improvement. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Postgraduate education (PhD or ABD) in a quantitative discipline, such as statistics, mathematics, or computer science. Coursework or work experience in statistics, machine learning, and predictive analytics. Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, R, or SQL. Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI. Excellent business, technical, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with machine learning algorithms and deep learning techniques. Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or Azure. Experience with agile development methodologies. Familiarity with United Airlines' business operations and systems.
