Job Overview We are seeking an experienced data scientist to join our remote team. As a data scientist at blithequark, you will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, developing predictive models, and creating data visualizations to inform business decisions. You will work closely with our engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement data-driven solutions. Key Responsibilities Build robust, flexible, and automated software tools to enable complex analysis of real-time data Answer complex questions on change effect on manufacturing and provide data-driven insights to stakeholders Cross-deliver data from different data storage areas and develop data pipelines to support business intelligence Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supplier, and IT teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement data-driven solutions Contribute to the automation and standardization of our data pipelines and develop data visualizations to communicate complex ideas effectively Analyze and determine the optimal solutions for change coordination with manufacturing, other blithequark plants, and suppliers Provide thought leadership in analysis, modeling, and data science to advance team's capability and outcome Guide colleagues and collaborate internally and externally to solve business problems and drive business growth Develop and program manage the execution of plans and business processes that are optimized for speed, accuracy, cost efficiency, capacity, and flexibility Build decision support systems, tools, and models that are scalable and reproducible to support planning and decision-making at blithequark Work with stakeholders to take a ambiguous problem statement, refine the scope of the analysis, and use the results to drive informed decisions Summarize and clearly communicate data analysis assumptions and results to stakeholders Build data pipelines to turn your ad-hoc data analyses into production dashboards that specialists can rely on Design and implement metrics, applications, and tools that will enable engineers to self-serve their data insights Work with architects to drive adoption of your applications and tools Write clean and tested code that can be maintained and extended by other programmers Work and support your production applications Stay up-to-date on relevant technologies and methodologies, and propose new ones that the team could use Identify trends, design better ways of looking at data, and set innovative approaches to drive improvements in both existing and future products Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability Solid knowledge of data structures, architectures, and languages like SQL Experience and interest in data visualization techniques Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing needs with minimal prior notice to meet deadlines Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience with statistical programming (R), database languages (SQL), simulation tools (Field, AnyLogic, FlexSim), data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, d3.js) Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and continually evolving high-growth environment Comfortable in an environment with unstructured, incomplete, and ambiguous data Solid foundation in statistics Experience building data visualizations Experience writing software in a professional environment Inquisitive and driven to solve complex problems Intelligent but humble, with a bias for action Strong engineering skills and proven track record of exceptional ability (e.g., you personally solved difficult problems that made a significant impact on major projects) Preferred Qualifications Some knowledge of deep learning fundamentals; experience training neural networks and exploring results Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies Knowledge of programming languages like Python, Java, or C++ Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git Strong understanding of data governance and data quality principles Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
