About the Role

As a Data Scientist - Data Analytics at Costco, you will play a pivotal role in driving business decisions by creating actionable insights from complex data sets. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including Security Operations and other data owners, to develop and test innovative solutions that address various Infosec issues. Your expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analysis will be crucial in optimizing business processes, improving product design, and enhancing customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities


Develop and implement analytical procedures to solve complex business problems, leveraging advanced data analytics and machine learning techniques.
Perform end-to-end analysis, including data collection, processing, analysis, deployment, and presentation to stakeholders.
Ensure the accuracy and quality of data used for analysis by processing, cleaning, and verifying it.
Extract and analyze data from corporate databases to drive optimization and improvement in product design, marketing strategies, and business ideas.
Utilize predictive models to optimize the supply chain, customer loyalty programs, and other business processes.
Design and optimize courses using machine learning techniques and feature selection.
Evaluate the effectiveness and accuracy of new data and data collection procedures, making recommendations for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement models and monitor results, driving business outcomes.
Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze performance standards and data accuracy.
Create and maintain a bug detection system, regularly monitoring its performance.
Perform ad-hoc analyses and present results clearly to stakeholders.
Work with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs and identify opportunities to deliver data-driven solutions.
Drive analytics using statistical, machine learning, and analytics methods to predict and optimize business outcomes.
Design and create ML/DL models to solve business problems, evaluating their efficiency and accuracy.
Communicate complex data insights effectively through storytelling and visualization.
Guide teams in efficient operations using machine learning techniques.
Provide feedback to improve test models and MLOps.


Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:


A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics/Mathematics, or a related field.
At least 3+ years of experience delivering business insights using advanced data and machine learning models.
Proficiency in working with various databases and documents.
Good knowledge of machine learning, statistics, and reporting tools such as Python, R, SQL, and PowerBI.
Experience working with cloud-based analytics platforms (AWS, Azure).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, having the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:


Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
Experience in software development.
Background in retail business or experience working with a data research team.
