Job Overview and Responsibilities
As a Data Science Summer Intern at Experian's R&D Lab, you will have the opportunity to develop analytical solutions by applying new technologies, including Quantum Computing. Your responsibilities will include:
Applying Machine Learning (ML), data mining, or text mining techniques to extract data insights and solve complex business issues
Designing data structures and storage schemes for efficient handling
Exploring and improving the application of Quantum Computing for fraud detection, digital marketing, and finance forecasting
Conducting ROI and benefit analysis to measure the impact of your projects
Documenting and presenting model process and model performance to stakeholders
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you should:
Be currently enrolled in a PhD degree program in Computer Science, Physics, or a related field
Plan to return to school in Fall 2025 to complete your degree
Have 0-3 years of working experience in analytics, data mining, or predictive modeling
Have experience with regression, Neural Network, or ensemble methods
Be proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, C++, or C
Have prior experience with algorithms and applications of Quantum Computing
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not required, the following skills and qualifications are preferred:
Experience with cloud-based technologies and data platforms
Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques
Strong understanding of statistical modeling and data analysis
