Job Summary
The Data Operations Engineer will be responsible for developing, deploying, and supporting advanced healthcare data interoperability solutions using multiple tools and programming languages. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data integration, ETL development, and API management, as well as experience working with healthcare interoperability tools and protocols such as FHIR, HL7, CDA, and EDI. This is a full-time remote position, with the requirement to reside in North Carolina and attend meetings at our office as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, deploy, and support SQL and SSIS processes to support data integration projects
Design, develop, and execute unit testing plans to ensure the quality and reliability of our data integration solutions
Develop technical and business process documentation for data integration projects, including data flow diagrams, system architecture diagrams, and user manuals
Design, develop, and/or manage monitoring solutions for data integration projects, including dashboards, alerts, and reporting tools
Maintain and continually improve data integration projects, including troubleshooting, optimizing, and refining existing processes
Conduct ETL and data pipelines capacity planning, optimization, troubleshooting, and support to ensure the scalability and performance of our data integration solutions
Assist in establishing standards for the design, development, implementation, and support of data integration projects, including best practices, coding standards, and testing protocols
Provide data integration support to internal and external stakeholders, including training, documentation, and technical assistance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and operations, to ensure the successful deployment and maintenance of our data integration solutions


Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:

Graduated from a Community College or Technical School with a major in Information Technology or a related field
At least seven (7) years of experience in a computer science-related field, including experience in a data integration or ETL development position
Strong programming skills in SQL, including experience with database design, development, and optimization
Proficiency in developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining ETL processes, preferably using SSIS and JAMS
Experience working with API management and data integration platforms such as Apigee or MuleSoft
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team setting


Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with at least five (5) years of experience in a computer science-related field
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, MuleSoft Certified Developer, and/or HL7 Certifications
Experience working with healthcare interoperability tools and protocols, including FHIR, HL7, CDA, and EDI
Experience working with HIEs and/or HISPs
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles and practices

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $102,424.00-$130,591.00 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also be eligible for a range of benefits and perks, including:
