About the Role: Data Entry Specialist We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Entry Specialist to join our team. As a Data Entry Specialist at blithequark, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our data management systems. Your primary responsibility will be to type information into our database from paper documents, utilizing your computer skills and attention to detail to ensure that all data is entered correctly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners Type in data provided directly from customers, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes, utilizing your analytical and organizational skills Verify data by comparing it to source documents, ensuring that all information is accurate and up-to-date Update existing data, making sure that all records are current and reflect any changes or updates Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested, providing timely and efficient support to our team members Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation, safeguarding our critical information and preventing data loss Sort and organize paperwork after entering data, maintaining a clean and organized workspace and ensuring that all documents are properly filed and stored Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred 1-2 years of experience in data entry or a related field, with a proven track record of accuracy and efficiency Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems Excellent typing skills, with a minimum of 40 words per minute and high accuracy Strong attention to detail, with the ability to verify data and detect errors Understanding of data confidentiality principles, with a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and security of sensitive information Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a more competitive candidate for this role: Experience working in a healthcare or medical office setting, with knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations Certification in data entry or a related field, such as Certified Data Entry Specialist (CDES) or Certified Administrative Assistant (CAA) Experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and other healthcare software applications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and resolve problems efficiently Skills and Competencies: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Attention to detail: The ability to verify data and detect errors, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality Organizational skills: The ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and maintain a clean and organized workspace Communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively with team members, customers, and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database management systems, and other software applications, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly Time management skills: The ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our team members.
