Job Summary
In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our team's efforts to transform a network of thousands of individual supplier organizations into a seamless operations organization. You will work closely with our technology partners to develop and implement cutting-edge tools that enable suppliers to execute high-value activities. Your primary responsibility will be to determine the most effective approaches and ensure that we have built the right tools to meet the needs of our suppliers. These enhancements should mutually benefit Wayfair and our suppliers, enabling more efficient fulfillment, communication, reporting, item availability, and increased transparency into our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Develop statistical and analytical models to support cross-functional initiatives
Collaborate and partner closely with Data Solutions, Data Visualization, and other teams to ensure agile rollout of recommendations
Apply data engineering and data science techniques to bring solutions to complex problems into scope
Serve as the informed authority for data, analysis, and visualization within the Global Operations or Supply Chain organization to ensure accurate and appropriate interpretation of core business metrics and customer behavior
Support broad improvement initiatives spanning thousands of suppliers to enhance efficiency and visibility across the supply chain for our supplier partners
Analyze key performance metrics to identify root cause performance issues and drive change
Consistently communicate performance trends and improvements to senior management and leadership


Essential Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Economics, Management, Social Sciences, or other quantitative discipline with a strong academic record
Experience in a quantitative, business intelligence, data science, or engineering role performing quantitative analysis is a plus
Practical experience conducting quantitative analyses on large datasets; proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, etc.), and structured programming languages (Python, R)
Strong knowledge of SQL (TSQL, Google Big Query, and Vertica incl. total capabilities, joins, etc.)
Familiarity with various Data Visualization Tools (Tableau/Looker/DataStudio) is a plus
High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple priorities
Solution-oriented, collaborative, and inquisitive mindset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a highly collaborative and team-oriented attitude
Experience in delivering successful projects from start to finish on time


Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (MS or Ph.D.)
Experience working with large datasets and performing statistical analysis
Proficiency in additional programming languages (e.g., Java, C++)
Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud)
Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques
