Job Description and Responsibilities arenaflex is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT Application Analyst to join its team in Austin, USA. As a critical member of the Corporate Framework Services (CIS) team, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead the design, implementation, and delivery of critical data solutions, leveraging their technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills to drive business success. The key responsibilities of this role include: Supervising the design work of other specialists on the project Designing, developing, and deploying scalable and efficient data solutions Ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of data solutions through thorough testing, monitoring, and optimization Building and delivering high-quality data architecture and pipelines to support business reporting requirements Monitoring data pipelines and proactively identifying and resolving any performance or reliability issues Ensuring data quality and reliability by implementing data validation, error handling, and data cleansing strategies Collaborating with different teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide range of data sources Working with business stakeholders, technical teams, and operational teams to address business requirements and deliver against high operational standards of system availability and reliability Building and optimizing software to extend system, application, or tool functionality to improve business processes and meet end-user needs Analyzing and resolving operational issues, performing detailed root cause analysis, and proposing ideas for improvements Documenting data design processes, workflows, and best practices to ensure data sharing and maintain a robust data repository Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess the following essential qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline Experience providing oversight to data design projects Proven expertise in building, developing, maintaining, and optimizing scalable database systems, including data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines, along with reporting solutions Extensive experience with AWS, including hands-on experience with AWS services such as AuroraDB (MySQL) - RDS, Amazon Workmail, Amazon SES, S3, Lambda, Redshift, SQS, IAM, VPC, and infrastructure setup and related components Experience working with modern data structures, Lambda-type models Ability to write and optimize SQL Knowledge and experience with Open Source Data Technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Pig, Spark, etc.) 2+ years of development experience in Python, Ruby, Scala, or other platform-related big data technology Knowledge of professional programming practices and best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and deployment Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Experience with SmartSheet, Asana, HoneyCode, or Powerapp JavaScript and/or React JS knowledge/experience Industry experience as a Data Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Programmer, Business Intelligence Specialist, Data Scientist) with a history of driving, handling, and extracting value from large datasets Experience building data products iteratively and integrating and managing datasets from multiple sources Query execution tuning skills using Unix profiling tools and SQL Experience leading large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects, including using AWS technologies - Redshift, S3, EC2, Data pipeline, and other big data technologies Experience with non-relational databases/data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases) Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for growth and development.
