Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, quality, and integrity of data pipelines that deliver a diverse set of data types to other engineering teams at Apple
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the advancement of our products and services
Design, develop, and maintain complex, multi-component large-scale data systems
Provide mentorship and guidance to experienced engineers and help them grow in their careers
Work closely with other engineering teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
Develop and maintain scalable, efficient, and reliable data pipelines and architectures
Ensure the quality and integrity of our data systems, and identify areas for improvement
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
Master-level experience with data engineering tools and technologies, processes, objectives, and philosophies
Master-level experience with at least two of the following languages and related development tools: Python, Ruby, Java, Scala, Swift, Objective C
Experience with at least one of the following platforms: HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Impala, Kafka, HBase, MapReduce, Kubernetes, Item Store, Flink
A strong sense of pride in the development cycle and the will to drive the team towards continuous code, application, and process improvements
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud-based data platforms and technologies
Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance principles
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
Experience with data visualization tools and technologies, such as Tableau or Power BI
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable components
