About the Role We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our team as a Jobs.Netflix.Com Tagger. As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the complex data systems that power our business. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving our decision-making processes, from content creation and acquisition to personalized recommendations and user experience enhancements. Key Responsibilities Design and develop large-scale data pipelines to process and analyze vast amounts of data from various sources, including development, finance, product, content, and studio domains. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, engineers, and data scientists, to identify data needs and develop solutions that drive business outcomes. Develop and maintain data models, architectures, and governance policies that ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Work with big data technologies like Spark, Flink, and Hadoop to build scalable and efficient data processing systems. Troubleshoot and optimize data pipelines and systems to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability. Develop and maintain technical documentation and data dictionaries to facilitate data understanding and reuse. Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices and standards for data engineering. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in at least one major programming language, such as Java, Scala, or Python. Experience with SQL and data modeling. Strong understanding of distributed systems, data processing, and data storage technologies. Experience with big data technologies like Spark, Flink, or Hadoop. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following skills and experiences will give you a competitive edge: Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP. Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices. Familiarity with machine learning and deep learning concepts. Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI. Strong understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
