We're currently seeking a talented and passionate Data Engineer to join our Forecasting Core Data Engineering team. What You'll Do

As a Data Engineer on our Forecasting team, you'll serve as a technical expert with significant scope and influence. You'll work closely with a dynamic group of software development engineers, product managers, data scientists, and business intelligence specialists to build the data infrastructure and data processing pipelines that drive our team's initiatives forward.

Your responsibilities will span the entire data lifecycle, from gathering and understanding data requirements to building and maintaining massive data repositories that prepare information for AI models, data scientists, and business intelligence analysts. You'll collaborate with programmers to achieve excellent data ingestion and transformation solutions, ensuring data quality and accessibility across the organization.

Key Responsibilities


Design and implement scalable data solutions using AWS and arenaflex's internal tooling infrastructure
Create and maintain business logic for data transformation and ingestion pipelines
Build and manage datasets in arenaflex's data lake and internal data management systems using S3/Spark
Perform data analysis and investigation to understand the impact of changes on downstream clients' use cases
Develop transformation logic to ingest data for Forecasting data analysis initiatives
Deliver high-quality data to internal data consumers and stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data quality issues and resolve data requirements for experiments, model training, and backtesting
Generate forecasts on a regular basis and support the data needs of AI and machine learning initiatives


A Day in the Life

Every day presents new opportunities to work with data at scale. You'll provide data not only to machine learning models but also to our direct clients in Business Intelligence and Data Science. Your role involves helping teams gain access to the data they need for analysis, working closely with them to address data quality issues, and resolving data requirements for experiments, model training, and backtesting. You'll be the bridge that connects data producers with data consumers, ensuring that the right information reaches the right people at the right time.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking candidates with a strong engineering background who are passionate about solving complex problems and thrive in environments where they're challenged to work on intricate systems under extreme loads. You should be comfortable working with structured data and possess the ability to analyze and transform data using various tools and technologies.

Essential Qualifications


Experience: 2+ years of data engineering experience
Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree is a plus
Database Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL is required
Programming: Experience with scripting languages is essential
Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills with the ability to dive deep into business data to understand and measure sources of variation
Data Architecture: Knowledge of mapping, metadata, and data structures in the big data ecosystem


Preferred Qualifications


Experience with AWS technologies including Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Firehose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
Experience with non-relational databases and data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
3+ years of data engineering experience
Experience designing and developing high-scalability ETLs with EMR-based applications
Familiarity with Spark ETL or Redshift
Knowledge of big data architecture and design patterns

Compensation and Benefits

We offer competitive compensation packages that reflect the value our employees bring to the organization. The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
