Job Overview
The DDSI Information Engineering (DE) group is responsible for partnering with Decision Science Products, Decision Science, Client, and Technology colleagues on various development and sustainment projects, ad-hoc requests, prototyping, and research initiatives. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the development and sustainment of products for our Media business, including data engineering activities such as maintaining and improving data acquisition processes, data validation processes, ETL/ELT data pipelines, and overall process alerting strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Gather data requirements, create source-to-target mappings, and develop data validation scripts and reviews
Design, develop, and monitor ETL/ELT data pipelines, and create and execute database schema/tables/views
Produce datasets as input to science models and representations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
Develop and maintain automated workflows and data pipelines using SQL, Python, and other technologies
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security, and troubleshoot data issues as needed
Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and maintenance
Proven expertise and proficiency in using Python and SQL (preferably with Snowflake)
Experience with developing in a multi-environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and DEVOP practices for code management/development
Experience creating and maintaining automated work schedulers
A solid understanding of relational database design and functionality
Preferred Qualifications
To stand out as a candidate, you should have:
Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, preferably cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
Proficiency in cloud architecture and product offerings, preferably AWS
Experience managing and deploying code using a source control product like GitLab/GitHub
