About the Company and Role Workwarp is partnering with Disney to recruit a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer for their Entertainment and ESPN Technology (DE&ET) team. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge data solutions that drive business growth and improve customer experiences. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the design and development of data products and data warehouses focused on Engagement and Retention Analysis and Data Science Design and develop scalable data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in large data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid) Help engineer data solutions/architectures and define data models for the core data warehouse and data marts Collaborate with Data Product Managers, Data Modelers, and Data Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to support data quality and data governance Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support commitment to our clients (Data Science, Data Analytics teams) Be an active member and supporter of agile/scrum practices to ensure safety and process improvements for your team Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must possess: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines) Strong SQL skills and ability to write queries to extract data and build performant datasets Hands-on experience with distributed systems like Spark, Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data Strong programming skills in Python, Java/Scala Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud data warehouse technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query) Strong experience with data integration toolsets (e.g., Airflow) and writing and maintaining Data Pipelines Solid understanding of Data Modeling methodologies and Data Warehousing best practices Familiarity with Scrum and Agile methodologies Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and excellent analytical and communication skills Preferred Qualifications To stand out as a candidate, you should have: Experience with Cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2) Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in the data engineering space Skills and Competencies Required for Success As a Lead Data Engineer at Disney, you will need to possess a unique blend of technical, business, and interpersonal skills.
