The Data Science and Engineering (DSE) team at blithequark utilizes data to measure, optimize, and enhance our customer service investments, aiming to create a seamless and delightful experience for our members. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software engineers, and business owners, to design and develop scalable data pipelines that transform raw data into actionable business metrics. Work with big data technologies such as Hive, Presto, Spark, and Flink to engineer data pipelines that can handle large-scale data sets. Develop and maintain custom visualization tools that provide insights into customer service metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making. Design adaptable data structures that can evolve with changes in source data or business processes, demonstrating strong data modeling skills. Write clean, supportable code in Python or Scala, with a strong focus on data quality and advanced SQL skills. Analyze business problems, develop metrics, and prioritize tasks autonomously, showcasing analytical aptitude and strong technical judgment. Communicate effectively with analysts, engineers, and business leaders to ensure productive partnerships and drive business outcomes. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you should have: At least 4 years of experience in engineering data pipelines using big data technologies on medium to large-scale data sets. Strong data modeling skills, with the ability to design adaptable structures that evolve with business needs. Proficiency in Python or Scala, with a passion for writing clean, supportable code.
