Key Responsibilities
As a Data Analyst on our team, you'll be responsible for:
Developing Data Visualization dashboards using data in AWS Data Lake, and creating interactive and intuitive reports that provide insights to stakeholders.
Partnering with other developers within the team to source data, identify trends, and develop data-driven solutions.
Finding ways to join disparate data sources to produce content, and creating data visualizations that tell a story.
Challenging how data is being rendered today, and determining ways to provide meaningful insights to end-users.
Creating dashboards that adhere to strict security access and entitlement standards, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Working on an Agile team to deliver Jira story requirements in sprints, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
Communicating effectively with non-technical stakeholders to understand business requirements, and translating those requirements into application functionality.
Partnering with developers to gauge report performance, optimize query return time, and improve overall data analysis efficiency.
Supporting the product owner in defining future stories, and the tech lead in defining technical designs.
Participating in design conversations, conveying ideas within the group, and training others on data analysis best practices.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
A strong analytical mindset, with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated expertise in Power BI, with 5 or more years of experience in data visualization and business intelligence.
A good understanding of RDBMS, with proficiency in SQL and the ability to write complex queries.
Hands-on experience with JIRA, BitBucket (or similar source control tools), and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
Familiarity with Cloud Computing, preferably AWS, and the use of tools to transfer, maintain, and extract data from AWS.
Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes, both on-prem and cloud, and the ability to design and implement data pipelines.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
A can-do attitude, with a willingness to learn and adapt to changing business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
A background in financial services functions, with experience working with financial data and systems.
Knowledge of Tableau and AWS QuickSight, with experience using these tools for data visualization and business intelligence.
Experience working in an Agile environment, with a strong understanding of Agile principles and practices.
