As a Data Analyst with our organization, you'll play a critical role in helping communities achieve their goals and create a lasting impact.

Position Overview

We're looking for a skilled Data Analyst to join our Built for Zero team as a core member of the Products team. This role is all about using data and technology to deliver actionable insights to internal staff and communities in the Built for Zero network. As a Data Analyst, you'll be responsible for analyzing data, creating data visualizations, and developing data systems that empower communities to track and improve their performance.

Key Responsibilities:


Design and continuously improve data systems that support Community Solutions, communities, and partners in analyzing data and tracking performance.
Develop and implement new data collection and validation processes, automate data analysis and integration, and improve data extraction/collection tools and systems.
Create clear training materials and processes for communities, partners, and internal staff, and iterate on data infrastructure design and functionality based on user feedback.
Design new tools, web apps, and visualizations that solve emergent measurement challenges and provide strategic support for internal data challenges.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including web development, UX/UI design, and process automation, to drive quality improvement and enable users to accomplish new things with data.


Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need to have:


A strong critical thinking mindset and ability to engage with complex challenges and datasets.
Experience with data analysis, data visualization, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI).
Familiarity with scripting/programming languages (e.g., Python, Javascript, R, SQL) and data prep tools.
Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of leading projects to successful completion.
A passion for justice, equity, and ending homelessness, with a belief that it's possible to create a better future for all.


Preferred qualifications include:


Experience with Salesforce or other client relationship management tools (CRMs).
Familiarity with homeless services and housing policy.
Knowledge of statistics, UX/UI design, software development, and system administration.
Experience with data storage and management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL).

Position Details

Location: Remote (continental United States)
Travel Requirements: Up to 5 days per month for team retreats, community visits, and other on-site trainings or convenings.
