Job Overview and Responsibilities We are seeking talented and enthusiastic Cycling Instructors to join our team in Connecticut and Westchester. As a Cycling Instructor at Equinox, you will be responsible for delivering the Equinox Experience to our members in each class, adhering to the class description, and modifying the intensity for participants when necessary. You will continuously monitor the exercise intensity throughout the duration of the class, ensure that classes begin and end on time, and assist members with technical and mechanical support on the bike to maximize their experience. Some of the key responsibilities of this role include: Delivering high-energy and engaging cycling classes that meet the needs of our diverse member base Modifying the intensity of the class to accommodate different fitness levels and abilities Providing excellent customer service and ensuring that members have a exceptional experience Communicating with the Group Fitness Manager on member feedback, equipment, and operational status, scheduling, and subbing Teaching respective classes on a regular basis and keeping subbing to a minimum Continuously monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the class and making adjustments as needed Equinox Cycle Pro Program Our Equinox Cycle Pro Program is a 7-week paid mentorship program that prepares instructors for success in the lane that suits them best. The program entails: Completing a 7-week paid mentorship cycling program: Equinox Cycle Pro Attending a once-a-week 2-hour session to demo portions of the class and receive feedback Completing a total of 2 hours of online training that consists of video tutorials Performing a final audition After completion of the Equinox Cycle Pro Program, there is a final audition for the position of cycling instructor. Qualifications and Requirements The successful candidate should have the following experience and qualifications: Must possess a current cycling certification (Schwinn or Stages indoor cycling certifications are highly recommended) Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification Must be well-versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, exercise modifications for all populations, and ACSM Guidelines for frequency, intensity, duration, and mode Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education Must be friendly, vibrant, and outgoing We offer competitive pay, with a rate of $50.00-$80.00 per class and $15.00/hr for non-class work.
