**Job Summary**

**Key Responsibilities**
* Provide fast, friendly service to customers, actively seeking out opportunities to assess their needs and provide assistance
* Learn about products and services using our tools and training programs
* Sell entire projects to meet customer needs, using your knowledge of products and services to recommend and close sales
* Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
* Follow all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
* Work safely as not to endanger yourself, co-workers, vendors, or customers
* Collaborate with Department Supervisor and other associates to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive work environment
* Participate in ongoing training and development programs to improve sales and customer service skills
**Essential Qualifications**
* High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or vocational training preferred
* 1-2 years of sales or customer service experience, preferably in a retail or home improvement setting
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management
* Strong product knowledge and sales skills, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
* Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Experience working in a home improvement or retail environment
* Knowledge of building materials, décor, electrical, flooring, garden, hardware, kitchen & bath, lumber, millwork, paint, plumbing, and tool rental products and services
