About the Department of Student Business Services The Department of Student Business Services at arenaflex is responsible for providing financial services and support to students, parents, and university departments. As a key part of the Division of Administration and Finance, the department operates as the university's cashiers and collects, allocates, and safeguards funds between students, banks, other departments, and various external sources. The department is committed to providing exceptional customer service and support to the university community, and is seeking an experienced Customer Service Specialist to join its team. Job Summary arenaflex is seeking an exceptional Customer Service Specialist to join the Department of Student Business Services. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, an active and energetic mind, and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, and integrity. Under general direction, the Customer Service Specialist will provide information, advice, and counsel on a variety of federal, state, and institutional student policies and procedures. The successful candidate will have a clear student-centered philosophy and will act as the front door and face of the Student Business Services Customer Service division. Key Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service and support to students, parents, and university departments via phone, email, and in-person interactions Research, investigate, analyze, and follow up on student questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) privacy guidelines while reporting accurate financial data and details to staff, students, faculty, and other customers Stay up-to-date on industry standards and implement them as they apply to the department and university Represent the Department of Student Business Services by effectively communicating with diverse groups, including students, faculty, staff, and the general public Provide back-up support on phones, live chat, and in-person customer service as needed Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and demonstrate strong attention to detail and flexibility Multitask and prioritize work assignments to meet deadlines and achieve departmental goals Assist in monitoring and creating content for departmental social media platforms to aid with customer service Essential Qualifications The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development, or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. The ideal candidate will have: Working knowledge of the general practices, program, or administrative specialty Basic knowledge of and the ability to apply fundamental concepts Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit, or administrative specialty Knowledge of and the ability to apply basic methods and procedures used for research and statistical analysis Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques Ability to make independent decisions, exercise sound judgment, handle multiple priorities, and organize and plan work assignments Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships Preferred Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: Experience using PeopleSoft Student Financials functionality in a university environment Working knowledge of Federal/CSU rules and policies Experience providing customer service in a Higher Educational environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
