Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Customer Service Representative to handle inbound customer service calls related to patient accounting questions. The successful candidate will be responsible for answering calls in a professional and service-oriented manner, resolving customer queries, and providing exceptional support to our clients. When inbound call volumes are low, the incumbent may make outbound follow-up calls on outstanding accounts receivable (AR) accounts to ensure timely resolution and payment. Key Responsibilities Answer inbound customer service calls and make outbound follow-up calls in a professional and service-oriented manner, ensuring timely resolution and payment. Ascertain the reason for the call and assist the caller with their questions, concerns, or problems, focusing on first-call resolution. Facilitate resolution by referring the matter to the issue/content expert, escalating the matter to a supervisor, requesting the appropriate information, or taking appropriate action to ensure effective resolution. Maintain control of the call by de-escalating issues, instilling confidence, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess exceptional customer service skills, including effective problem-solving and analytical skills. You should have a professional and calming tone of voice, complete command of the English language, and the ability to facilitate conversations with others. A high school education or equivalent is required, and 1-2 years of prior experience in an inbound call center and/or customer service environment is preferred. Hospital patient account billing experience or knowledge of third-party reimbursements from insurance companies and government payers is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a call center environment, preferably in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of patient accounting and billing processes, including third-party reimbursements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply reimbursement aspects of managed healthcare contracts. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate responses clearly and concisely. Ability to work independently, with a high degree of flexibility and creative problem-solving techniques.
