About the Role As a Customer Service Representative II, you will be the frontline representative of the Development Services Department, providing top-notch customer service to internal and external stakeholders. Your excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of municipal customer service or permitting experience will be essential in resolving customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and efficient cent manner. Key Responsibilities Address internal and external email communications, respond to service requests submitted via CRM, phone calls, and face-to-face inquiries from customers regarding permit application and processing. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a timely cent and efficient cent manner; resolve problems related to registrations, building permits, and other related permits. Monitor the status of permit applications and follow up as needed to assist customers with various permit issues. Complete appropriate research when needed to resolve issues. Explain applicable codes, ordinances, policies, and procedures via phone, electronic communication, and face-to-face interactions and issue registrations, licenses, and permits in accordance with applicable codes and ordinances; and assess applicable fees. Ensure consistency and quality of customer service; consistently perform daily tasks that require adherence to specific deadlines. Work diligently to promote departmental goals and meet business needs. Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must have: A high school diploma or GED. Two (2) years of responsible customer service experience within the Development Services Department. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, having the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge: Municipal customer service or permitting experience. Bilingual skills: English/Spanish desirable. The ability to effectively communicate with customers with varying levels of expertise. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
