About the Role: Customer Service Gate Agent The primary responsibility of the Customer Service Gate Agent position is to assist passengers with boarding the aircraft, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable travel experience. This role requires monitoring computerized passenger boarding, assisting customers with special needs, and making changes to customer flight itineraries as required. The successful candidate will be able to successfully complete the Gate Agent training course, lift seventy (70) pounds, and work all shifts, including weekends, nights, holidays, and irregular shifts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist passengers in boarding and disembarking flights, ensuring a safe and efficient process. Monitor computerized passenger boarding to ensure accurate and timely boarding. Assist customers with special needs, including arranging for wheelchairs and unaccompanied minors, to provide a personalized and caring experience. Change customer flight itinerary and seat assignments as required, ensuring that passengers receive the best possible service. Operate the Jetway, ensuring safe and efficient boarding and disembarking of passengers. Work as a team to provide excellent customer service and meet corporate objectives, contributing to the overall success of blithequark. Job Qualifications and Competencies: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and competencies: Successful completion of the Gate Agent training course, demonstrating your ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes. Ability to meet company goals and customer expectations in a high-energy environment, prioritizing excellent customer service and efficiency. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with passengers, colleagues, and other stakeholders. Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask, managing multiple responsibilities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous airline experience, providing a strong understanding of the aviation industry and its unique challenges. Previous employment as a front-line customer service provider, demonstrating your ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs, enabling you to efficiently use technology to support your role. Work Environment and Physical Requirements The Customer Service Gate Agent role is based in an airport ramp environment, subject to varied weather conditions and elevated noise levels. You will be required to use telephones, computers, and other office equipment, as well as operate the Jetway and perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and walking. The physical requirements of the role include: Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, and climbing up and down stairs. Handling objects up to 70 pounds, requiring a moderate level of physical fitness. Assisting passengers with disabilities, including pushing wheelchairs, to provide a personalized and caring experience.
