As a Customer Engineer, you will be at the forefront of this effort, working closely with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders to drive cloud adoption and success. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with clients to understand their technical requirements and develop tailored solutions using Google Cloud products and services. Design, develop, and demonstrate cloud-based solutions, including proof-of-concepts, prototypes, and production-ready applications. Work with clients to identify and address technical blockers, providing expert guidance and support to ensure successful cloud deployments. Develop and maintain technical relationships with clients, providing regular briefings, product updates, and technical support as needed. Partner with internal stakeholders, including sales teams, product managers, and engineers, to drive cloud sales, product development, and innovation. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and Google Cloud product developments, applying this knowledge to drive client success and innovation. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 4+ years of experience as a technical sales engineer or customer-facing role in a cloud computing environment. Strong understanding of traditional data center models and components, including servers, storage, backup, networking, and virtualization technology. Experience with cloud computing platforms, infrastructure, storage, and applications. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience with deployment methodologies and technologies, such as Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), Chef, Puppet, Ansible. Strong understanding of operating systems, Linux system administration, or enterprise applications. Experience with public cloud platforms, including infrastructure, storage, and applications. Knowledge of security matters, including authentication protocols, identity and access management systems, encryption, securing cloud architectures, network, and end-point security. Experience with networking areas, including Linux, software-defined networking, virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration and load balancing, DNS, virtual private networks, and their application to PaaS and IaaS technologies. Skills and Competencies To succeed as a Customer Engineer, you will need to possess a strong technical skillset, including: Cloud computing platforms and technologies Data center infrastructure and components Networking and security Operating systems and system administration Enterprise applications and software development Deployment methodologies and technologies In addition to technical skills, you will need to possess excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
