About Us The JCC of Greater Baltimore is a hub for recreational, educational, social, and cultural activities, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds. Our Rosenbloom Owings Mills campus is a vibrant center for arts and culture, offering a range of programs and facilities, including the Performing Arts Center. As a CTPC Music Director, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with the Director of Youth Arts Education to develop and deliver high-quality music programming for children of all ages. Key Responsibilities Provide musical accompaniment and instruction for classes, rehearsals, and performances, ensuring the integrity of vocal and instrumental components within CTPC programming. Teach and mentor young performers, both individually and in groups, to develop their musical skills and confidence. Assist with theatre and audition prep classes, auditions, and tech week rehearsals for main stage and side stage productions. Develop and execute age-appropriate curriculum for preparatory musical theatre classes, demonstrating strong organizational and communication skills. Collaborate with peers and colleagues to achieve artistic goals, while maintaining a patient and inclusive approach to working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Attend production meetings, special events, and training as required, adhering to JCC standards for professionalism and safety procedures. Teach private voice lessons, if desired, and contribute to the overall growth of our music program. Essential Qualifications To excel in this role, you should possess: A minimum of 2 years' experience in teaching and/or musical directing, preferably with school-aged students. Extensive experience working with diverse levels of musicianship, age groups, and learning abilities. Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with peers and colleagues. Experience in planning, writing, and executing curriculum for musical theatre classes. A willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing needs, while maintaining a patient and inclusive approach. Preferred Qualifications To stand out as an ideal candidate, you may also possess: Experience directing musical theatre productions, with a strong background in musical directing. Ability to transpose music to accommodate the ranges and talents of students. Experience teaching individual voice lessons. A strong performance and/or teaching background, with a preference for submissions including musical directing, performance, and/or teaching reels.
