With a strong commitment to trauma-informed care and strengths-based practices, we strive to create a supportive environment that fosters growth and resilience. **Responsibilities** As a Crisis Counselor Chat Specialist, you will be responsible for: * Providing real-time, compassionate, non-judgmental crisis support to clients through our online chat service, utilizing your exceptional listening and communication skills to de-escalate crises and promote emotional well-being. * Attending initial trainings and all-staff meetings during daytime hours 1-2 times per month, ensuring you stay up-to-date on best practices, policies, and procedures. * Dispatching additional client services, such as Mobile Crisis Outreach, when necessary, to provide comprehensive support and ensure seamless transitions. * Documenting each chat contact to ensure quality record keeping, maintaining accurate and detailed records of client interactions. **Requirements** To be successful in this role, you will need: * A Bachelor's degree in human services or any field, plus one year of relevant experience, or a master's degree in a human service-related field. * Comfort using basic computer software, including typing and data entry skills, with the ability to type quickly and multi-task. * Excellent writing and grammar skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in writing. * A private home office to ensure confidentiality and reliable, high-speed internet at home. **Nice-to-haves** While not required, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable: * Experience in crisis services, including working with individuals in crisis and providing support during traumatic events. * Education or training in trauma-informed care, strengths-based practices, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques. * Background in motivational interviewing, with experience in promoting positive change and empowering individuals to make informed decisions. * Knowledge/experience working in the mental health, substance use, and/or problem gambling field, with a strong understanding of the complexities and challenges faced by individuals in these areas. **Benefits** As a valued member of our team, you will enjoy: * Paid holidays and time off, allowing you to recharge and prioritize your well-being. * A $500 sign-on bonus, recognizing your commitment to joining our team. * Quarterly wellness benefit reimbursements, supporting your physical and mental health. * Opportunities for career growth and professional development, with access to training and education resources. **Work Environment and Company Culture** At blithequark, we prioritize a supportive and inclusive work environment that fosters collaboration, creativity, and growth.
