Experienced Credentialing + Billing Specialist for Behavioral Health Insurance Enrollment - Contract to Hire
We are a growing healthcare business that provides Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) to detox and rehab treatment centers. Our providers deliver psychiatric, detox, and medical evaluations for patients undergoing behavioral health treatment.
We are now ready to transition from billing treatment centers directly to billing insurance in-network, and we need an experienced credentialing and billing professional to lead the way by setting up the infrastructure and processes and partnerships needed to enable insurance network partnerships and compliance.
What We’re Looking For:
We are hiring a contract Credentialing Specialist who can own and manage the provider credentialing process end-to-end. Navigate and manage CAQH profiles for all providers. Identify and initiate enrollment with relevant insurance networks. Guide us through payer negotiations and advise on realistic, competitive reimbursement rates. Anticipate and avoid common credentialing pitfalls and delays. Provide expert insight on billing strategy (in-network and out-of-network). Recommend or help coordinate with a trusted billing company to manage claims.
You’re a Fit If You:
Have 3+ years of experience in medical provider credentialing and payer enrollment. Have credentialed MDs, NPs, and/or PAs, ideally in mental health or addiction treatment. Are proficient with CAQH, PECOS, NPPES, and major payer systems. Understand the payer landscape and credentialing requirements for detox, rehab, or IOP settings. Can advise on reimbursement benchmarks and contract negotiation. Have worked closely with or for medical billing companies. Can start immediately and move quickly.
Scope & Details:
Contract basis, part-time to start with the option to expand based on progress and results. Autonomous position with flexible hours, remote work. Immediate start — we have providers ready to begin credentialing now. We’ll provide support and documentation, but you’ll be expected to lead the process with autonomy.
