Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and skilled Costume CAM Specialist to join our team at blithequark. As a Costume CAM Specialist, you will play a crucial role in bringing our iconic Disney, Parks, and Character costumes to life. You will work closely with our designers, vendors, and other stakeholders to create and develop costume designs, technical drawings, and documentation. Key Responsibilities Build technical drawings using Adobe Illustrator or similar software Create, analyze, and interpret line drawings Develop designs for new costume developments Customize designs for individual costumes Digitize, modify, and perfect patterns Provide quotes for Bill of Materials on repeat orders Vender communication and negotiating with management Perform external vendor test evaluations Take measurements of costumes and size charts Write specifications in Microsoft Excel Evaluate prototype costumes or samples Test cutting and sewing Collaborate with Costuming Leaders and attend meetings with different levels of the organization Update and maintain costume measurements Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: A minimum age of 18 years A valid Driver's License, as you may be required to drive company vehicles Advanced knowledge of costume design, cutting, and construction Comfort working with a wide range of fabrics, including produced and natural fibers Ability to work in a space where you may be exposed to performers in various stages of dress and undress Flexibility with work schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Gerber Accumark, Microsoft Excel, Gerber YuniquePLM, Adobe Photoshop, Cutworks, Cast Measurements, SAP, and Accunest Experience using plotters, digitizing machines, and handheld 3D scanners Costume production experience within the Apparel Industry, Textiles, Theater, Themed Entertainment, or related field Experience with industrial sewing machines, press equipment, and tools Experience creating and editing relative level sketch line drawings of complex costumes in Adobe Illustrator Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
